Just as important is system stability and reliability, much of it stemming from the financial commitment to maintain spinning reserves to accommodate renewable energy on the grid. And no less critical are issues related to natural gas and how possible initiatives by the Trump Administration to ease environmental rules around coal could impact the generation mix.
