EP14 has added a conference track focused entirely on issues related to combined heat and power and cogeneration, which are gaining widespread acceptance as natural gas supplies and prices stabilize and allow for better long-term planning.
The new track includes six comprehensive sessions that take place in conjunction with ELECTRIC POWER’s other nine conference tracks. The CHP/cogeneration track includes sessions on:
- Achieving Increased Efficiency Through CHP
- CHP Contracting and Development Approaches
- Operational Considerations
- Environmental and Permitting Considerations for CHP
- Combined Heat and Power Technologies: New and Existing
- Drivers and Trends in Combined Heat and Power
A highlight of the track will be two separate presentations by Juan Ontiveros, Executive Director of Utilities and Energy Management at the University of Texas. On Tuesday, April 1 he will speak on the legacy of combined heat and power. On Wednesday, April 2, he will speak about technical considerations and development issues for CHP/cogeneration systems. In addition to Ontiveros, a veritable Who’s Who of experts in CHP/cogeneration will speak at or moderate conference sessions, including:
